Blue Dot victory--Omaha goes dem. again

Omaha earned its blue stripes by bringing home 1 electoral vote for President Obama in 2008.  Oh, it was a squeaker, but we registered more dems., outworked the repubs, and brought those voters home for a victory.  So the question was, does that translate into Real Change (TM).

Yes, We Can.

Today, Omaha elected a Democratic Mayor.  Now, that's not unusual.  Mayor Fahey, the now former incumbent, was wildly popular and a good Democrat, but the question was, was it all based on Mike's personal charm.  Could a Democrat who wasn't Mike Fahey get elected mayor? Jim Suttle, our Democratic candidate and new mayor, bless him, is a good guy.  But a wild charmer he is not.  This mayoral election was Democrat vs. Republican, not charmer vs. inept campaigner.  The Democrats won.  Maybe this thing will last, even in this reddest of states.

This was due to the hard work of the newly formed Stonewall Democrats, South Omaha, midtown and North Omaha voters.  Stand up and take a bow, y'all.  Now let's get to work.
